Start date ASAP, or by February half term

THE POST

A requirement has arisen for a well-qualified, experienced and flexible peripatetic teacher of LAMDA Drama. This person will be engaged by school to provide one-to-one or small group tuition via a contract with parents.

Peripatetic teachers are self-employed, and the fees are fixed annually by the Speech & Drama staff and the school. As self-employed teachers, fees are paid directly to the tutor from the parent/guardian. Peppercorn rent for all peripatetic staff is £15 per year.

Drama is taught across the school from Years 2 to 13, however in the first instance the successful candidate will teach in the Senior School and Co-ed College. Drama is a popular extra-curricular subject, which supports GCSE & A Level studies and school productions. It is taught primarily after school and classes are normally for an hour between 3.30pm and 5.30pm, with occasional lunchtime lessons.

Flexibility in working hours will be required at times depending on the number of students, and the successful candidate will also attend and assist with organising examination sessions.

The successful applicant will have experience in teaching across the range of ages and will be expected to keep registers and communicate with parents by email. LAMDA exams are held at least six times a year, and experience teaching all areas of the LAMDA syllabus is a key element of the role, with the successful applicant expected to be available on the dates of the exams to support their students.
