We are seeking to appoint an experienced School Nurse, for an immediate start on a part-time basis, to provide a clinically effective, high-quality service of nursing care and health promotion to pupils, and first aid care to all members of the school community, practicing in line with the Nursing and Midwifery Code of Conduct.
The role will require the successful candidate to be on-site Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, 8am-4pm, during term time.
This post would suit an experienced nurse, who is looking for the opportunity to work regular hours in a nurturing environment, at Cardiff’s leading independent school. It will suit those who enjoy working with children and are able to establish warm, professional and mutually respectful relationships with them, and who can be effective members of a highly committed team of staff. This is a rewarding role, which offers variety and the opportunity to help shape wellbeing and pastoral care at the school.
The pupils at the school are great fun and standards of behaviour are high. Should you choose to apply we look forward to meeting you, showing you what we do and hearing what you can offer.
Standards at the school, academic and behavioural are very high and there is a strong Christian ethos. We are committed to a policy of equality. It is recognised and welcomed that teaching and support staff will come to the school with a variety of faiths, beliefs and backgrounds. We aim to ensure that no job applicant, member of staff, student or other member of the school community is treated less favourably on any grounds. We particularly welcome applications from under-represented groups.
To apply, please download and complete the application form and email it, together with a covering letter of no more than two sides of A4, to Mrs Clare Sherwood, Head, via the work for us email detailed in the candidate pack, or by post.
Please apply as soon as possible as we will operate a rolling deadline and suitable candidates may be interviewed within a week of their application is received. The final deadline for applications is 11:55pm, Sunday 25th October 2026, but we reserve the right to close this sooner.
The Cathedral School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We are an equal opportunities employer.
