RGS Worcester seeks to appoint an inspirational, highly motivated and dedicated Head of Cricket who is able to inspire in our pupils a love of Cricket and to lead the School’s Cricket Programme
As the Head of Cricket, you will be responsible for providing the oversight, leadership and strategic direction of the school’s cricket programme for boys and girls. Through your coaching, you will lead by example, inspiring and nurturing young talent to excel at cricket, and instilling the values of teamwork, discipline and fair play. In your management of the cricket coaching team, you will encourage and support other staff to develop their coaching skills.
You will work closely with the Director Sport to help identify and recruit talented cricketers to RGS. You will also help to mentor Cricket players on the school’s Athlete Development Programme, liaising with external clubs and coaches for those on elite pathways.

Cricket at RGS Worcester
Cricket at RGS enjoys a rich history and has enjoyed a positive summer this year. In Boys’ Cricket, the 1st XI squad enjoyed a week of one-day matches, winning 3 out of 5, in the RGS Schools’ Cricket Festival. We hosted teams from RGS Colchester, RGS Guildford, RGS High Wycombe, RGS Lancaster and RGS Newcastle. The RGS Worcester team finished 2nd in the competition. Matches have been played right across all Year groups and our U12A team reached the final of the County Cup.
In Girls’ Cricket, matches have been played across all Year groups. The 1st XI achieved victories over Cheltenham College, Malvern College and Stowe School, and only narrowly missed out in the Semi-final of the National Plate competition. The Under 13A team won the County Cup, beating local opposition in the final.Early application is encouraged. Details of interview will be confirmed to shortlisted candidates in due course.
