The Cathedral School, Cardiff's leading independent school for girls and boys, is seeking to appoint a candidate for the newly created role; Primary Learning Support Co-ordinator, from the 1st September 2026. This role is being advertised both internally and externally.
The successful candidate will help develop our school’s pre-existing learning support provision for our junior and infant pupils. From the application process to transitioning into KS3, The Learning Support Coordinator will play an integral role in supporting pupil welfare and academic development.
Applications are welcome from recently qualified and more experienced teachers, and from the independent or state sectors. The financial package offered will be commensurate with the experience of the person appointed and qualifies for a management allowance. For further information about the role and staff benefits, please see the candidate pack.
Standards at the school, academic and behavioural are very high and there is a strong Christian ethos. The school is committed to a policy of equality and aims to ensure that no job applicant, member of staff, student or other member of the school community is treated less favourably on grounds of race (including colour, nationality, ethnic or national origin), religion or religious belief, sex or sexual orientation, gender or gender identity, marital or civil partner status, disability or age. It is recognised and welcomed that teaching and support staff will come to the school with a variety of faiths, beliefs and backgrounds.
The successful candidate will be required to undergo full DBS clearance in order to establish their suitability to work with children.
Please apply as soon as possible as we will operate a rolling deadline and suitable candidates may be interviewed 24 hours after their application is received. The final deadline for applications is Monday, 1st June at 9.00am.
Further details of this post and a downloadable application form can be found on the school website (see ‘Join Us’).
The Cathedral School is a Woodard school, also in membership of the HMC, the Society of Heads, IAPS and the Choir Schools' Association.
