Permanent, Full-Time, Full-Year Contract
Salary: Point 22 – 27 on the John Whitgift Foundation Support Staff Salary Scale. The full-time salary will be between £37,276 gross pay per annum (at Point 22) to £42,848 gross pay per annum (at Point 27) depending on qualifications and relevant experience.
Whitgift is a leading independent boarding and day schools for boys aged between 10 and 18 years, with approximately 1500 pupils and over one hundred boarding or flexi-boarding pupils. It is set in an attractive 48-acre parkland site in South Croydon enjoying excellent links to London, Surrey and the south coast.
We are seeking to appoint an experienced Games Coach – Cricket to join our ambitious and successful Sports Department. Working closely with the Director of Cricket and Cricket Development Officer, the successful candidate will deliver high-quality coaching to pupils from Year 6 to Year 13, supporting players at all levels, from beginners through to county and performance pathways. The role will include coaching and managing cricket teams, supporting fixtures and tours, contributing to the Whitgift Cricket Academy, and creating an environment in which pupils can develop their skills, confidence, teamwork and enjoyment of the game.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of cricket coaching within a school, club, county pathway or professional environment and hold an ECB Core Coach qualification or equivalent. They will be an excellent communicator with a genuine commitment to developing young people through sport and maintaining high standards of safeguarding and pupil welfare. In addition to cricket, the postholder will contribute to the wider sporting life of the School, including coaching winter sports, supporting Games lessons, fixtures, events and tours, with some weekend duties required.
