Role: PE Teacher
Contract term: Fixed Term
Hours: Part time 0.8 FTE
Salary: GDST Pay Band PL1/PL2 FTE £38,370 - £54,858 - Dependent on experience
Required from: September 2026
The role
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed PE specialist to join a collaborative and forward thinking school community and make a meaningful contribution to the physical, personal, and holistic development of our students.
At Royal High Bath, sport and physical activity play a central role in shaping confident, resilient and connected young women. As a valued member of our PE Department, you will:
• Motivate and inspire all students to engage positively in physical activity
• Deliver well prepared, inclusive lessons that support every learner, regardless of ability
• Champion the value of sport across the whole school, fostering participation, teamwork, resilience and healthy living
• Bring energy, expertise and a student centred approach to both curricular and co curricular sport
• Help shape the sporting experiences of girls who are eager to discover their strengths and achieve their potential
You will contribute to providing an excellent education for all pupils by teaching with expertise and enthusiasm, building strong pastoral relationships, and supporting the wider co curricular life of the school. Through high quality teaching and coaching, you will nurture students’ physical literacy, competitive spirit and leadership skills.
The role includes inspiring participation in both curricular and co curricular sport, supporting academic excellence in examination PE where appropriate, and promoting the school’s sporting profile within the wider community.
It would be highly desirable for the successful candidate to have strong knowledge, experience and expertise in one or more of the school’s major games: hockey, netball, and cricket. You should be confident and competent in coaching and managing school teams, including team selection, preparation and match day leadership, and be willing to contribute fully to the delivery of the school’s competitive fixture programme. This includes regular weekday and weekend fixtures, tournaments and other sporting commitments as required.
About you
This role is ideal for a qualified PE teacher who is passionate about sport, committed to inclusive physical education, and excited by the opportunities offered within an all‑girls environment. You will enjoy working in a dynamic, nurturing setting and be ready to inspire, lead and make a lasting difference to the lives of young people.
If you are ready to champion sport, empower girls, and contribute to a vibrant and ambitious department, we warmly invite you to apply. We can’t wait to welcome the next member of our passionate and talented team.
