Notting Hill & Ealing High School, one of London’s leading independent girls’ day schools, has an exciting opportunity for an inspirational teacher to join a flourishing and high-achieving Economics Department.
We are looking for a well-qualified and enthusiastic Teacher of Economics, with a passion for the subject and excellent subject knowledge. The ability to teach Math would be beneficial but not essential. If you are a good communicator who can enthuse and inspire both pupils and colleagues and have exciting ideas about the teaching of Economics, and the ways in which they can be further developed and encouraged, we would be delighted to hear from you.
The Department
Economics is one of the strongest and most popular subjects in the Sixth Form. In recent years the uptake of the subject has increased significantly and our results at A Level are consistently excellent. Aside from achieving exam success, the department aims to inspire students throughout the school about Economics and its applications in daily life. It also strives to provide all pupils with the best possible opportunities to fulfil their potential.
A number of activities are run outside the classroom including competitions such as The London Institute of Banking & Finance Student Investor Challenge, the Tycoon Enterprise Competition, as well as the Royal Economic Society’s essay competition. Students apply each year to study Economics at university, including Oxford and Cambridge. The department offers students one-to-one support to prepare them for university applications and interviews, and provides a range of opportunities for independent research and learning.
